The U12 Girls trip to Sweden and Denmark has been captured in a photo book. The photo book was created using tools available from Mpix Press. The result is a 10″x10″ hard bound book containting 32 pages. Featured in the book are pages for each of the players and coaches along with pictures from the trip and the opposing teams.

Article on CASL Teams in Eskipscupen

If you’ve visited the CASL web site recently, there is a reference to an article about the CASL teams that participated in the Eskilscupen which appeared in the sports sections of the Helsingborg Daily newspager on August 2, 2009.

Scenes from Helsingborg

Some pictures of the girls in and around Helsingborg have been posted. Helsingborg is situated on the Øresund (the Sound), the body of water between Denmark and Sweden, guarding the entrance to the Baltic. There is a tremendous amount of ferry traffic going back and forth between Denmark and Sweden out of Helsingborg and the hotel was right up the street from the port.

Eskilscupen Banquet Photos

Pictures from the final activities from the Eskilscupen have been posted. After the teams returned to the hotel they took team photos at several locations near the hotel.

At the banquet all the Ambassadors were treated to a visit from Henrik Larrson, a famous Swedish soccer player and current captain of the Swedish national team. Henrik Larsson took a few questions then posed for photos from each team. He is on crutches due to an injury he suffered in the game the Ambassadors attended on the first day they were in Sweden.

After the banquet all the Ambassadors teams were gathered up for one final photo sessions on the steps to the castle gate.

Pictures from Eskilscupen

I have finally had a chance to upload some more of the pictures from the tournament. I was able to get pictures from the Stars games from Cathy Boney as well as take some of their final game of my own.

It was unfortunate that the Stars and Stripes played all of their games at the same times but on different fields. The Stripes were able to cheer on their teammates from the Stars only in their final game after the Stripes had been eliminated. Coach Rob actually had to talk the bus driver and tournament director into allowing the Stripes to come watch the Stars’ game! They wanted to take the Stripes back to the hotel.

I am sure you are wondering if they did anything besides play soccer!

I have some pictures of the girls from around town and also got some pictures from Cathy from their epic travel adventure getting to Copenhagen that I will try and post in the next day or so. Also keep checking back for some bonus material of the parents that has been collected from various cameras. Some of it is pretty funny.

Eskilscupen Day 2

Day two of the Eskilscupen tpournament has completed for the U12 Girls. The Stars continue to shine, winning both games again today. In their morning game the Stars defeated Kristianstads DFF-2 3-0. In their afternoon game the Stars defeated Tollarps IF 2-0. The Stars take their 4-0 record into Sunday’s final round.

The Stripes had a tougher time, showing signs of jet lag and falling to Husie IF in their first game 2-0. A completely different Stripes team showed up for their second game against Skärblacka IF which the Stripes dominated and won 6-0.

You can find more results information on the tournament web site. The results seem to get updated about two hours after the games are complete. The results of the first three games are under the “Girl Groups” section (select Girls 12), the second round and all of Sunday’s games are under “Playoffs Girls”.

Eskilscupen Day 1

After a day of travel woes for many of the players and families, everyone was ready for Day 1 of the Eskilcupen soccer tournament in Helsingborg . Day 1 is now over and everyone is supposed to be in bed!

Both U12 girls team had a successful day. The Stars won both of their games, winning the first 6-1 and the second 1-0. The Stripes lost their first game 1-0 but rebounded and won their second game 9-0!

Pictures of the Stripes Day 1 games have already been posted, pictures from the Stars Day 1 games will hopefully be posted tomorrow.
